Balasubramanian heads Farohar’s Global Maritime Operations and it’s AI and Emerging Technologies initiatives.  He is a result-driven maritime leader with over 25 years of combined sea-going and shore-based experience, delivering operational excellence, cost efficiency, and fleet reliability.

Served over 15 years as Chief Marine Engineer across multiple vessel classes, followed by 10 years in senior technical leadership roles managing fleets of up to 10 vessels with full accountability for performance, safety, and compliance.

He has led more than 15 complex dry dockings & Vessel Acquisitions across international locations.

Technically strong and business-focused, holding an Engineering degree, MEO Class I certification from the Government of India, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. 

He has a proven track record in maritime technology and digital transformation, with over a decade of leadership in a leading shipping software company, holding roles of Technical Manager, General Manager and Director. Spearheaded software development and implementation initiatives that improved operational efficiency and decision-making across maritime operations.
